Oh, the Places You'll Go

"You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose"- Dr. Seuss
I'm sure you've all heard of the book "Oh the Places You'll Go" by Dr. Seuss. I've read this book about 100 times not ever thinking of it as anything more than just a book. This past summer I had to decide what I was going to do with my education. I had to decide if I was just going to throw in the towel and just give up or come back in the fall and take a victory lap.
When trying to decide on what to do, all I could think about was the "places I could go". No matter what you face in your life, you're always going to have to make a tough decision. You’re going to question yourself if it's the best one to make. No matter what you decide, you're going to have to make the most of it. You will have good times and bad times in life but it's how you overcome it.
"You won't lag behind, because you'll have the speed. You'll pass the whole gang and you'll soon take the lead. Wherever you fly, you'll be best of the best. Wherever you go, you will top all the rest."
When I was trying to make my decision, I thought well I really don't want to behind everyone else. But then I thought well if I drop out of school I won't get to experience the things that I want to do. So, I stuck with my gut and decided that I should stay in school to better myself. Sometimes it's okay to take the long way to get where you're going. So, always push though the hard times so you can come out on top. Always remember to think about the places you'll go and not the places you've been.
