3 Bible Verses all College Students Need to Hear

For me, this semester has been one of the hardest both mentally and emotionally. I have found myself feeling very lost and often times very beaten down because there are a number of things going on in my personal life back home along with a heavy course load. The one thing that has helped me get through all this and help keep me going is my faith and my time spent in the word. I have found in particular some verses that have helped give me strength to get through these tough times. I hope by sharing them, they can help give you the strength to finish this semester strong and help get you through whatever has been going on in your life.

1. “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you” – 1 Peter 5:7

A lot of the time I find myself worrying about the future or things that I can’t change. Whenever I am feeling anxious about any situation I reflect on this verse and know that everything will work out how it should because God is in control of the situation and will take care of me no matter where I go/do.

2. “Rejoice in hope; be patient in tribulation; be constant in prayer.” – Romans 12:12

When you find yourself in a tough situations, the immediate response is to question why this is happening to you. However, you should turn to God, pray and be patient because he be will you no matter what. But don’t forget to rejoice and thank him because sometimes we find ourselves only coming to him in times of need and not when things are going well for us.

3. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11

This is my all-time favorite verse because I feel like it sums up everything that I need to hear from God no matter the situation. Whenever I hear and reflect on this verse I immediately feel comfort and I know that God is with me no matter what. I also know that he has a plan for my life and no matter how much I question that plan. He in the end will be the controller of that plan and that it does me no good to worry about that plan because in the end it is all God’s decision.

College is always going to test you and there are going to be times that you question if all this stress is worth it or not. In these times it is important to just take a second, breath, and reflect or send a prayer up to God. God will always be there for you, better than any friend, parent, or sibling and he will get you and lead you through anything and everything. It’s just up to you to put your trust and faith in him.
